  Sampathnet offers you financial services via the Internet. Sampathnet also offers value-added services you do not normally enjoy at the banking counters in the most customer friendly manner.
To perform any transactions in the Sampathnet, you would need to have a Sampathnet User ID and Password.

  3. WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO OBTAIN SAMPATHNET FACILITY?
  You are required to have a Current/Savings Account in any currency at any Branch of Sampath Bank preferably with a SET card.
   
 
 
  4. IS INTERNET BANKING SECURE AND SAFE?
 

use Digital Certificate issued by Verisign Inc.,USA an internationally acclaimed Internet security service provider. This Certifies that the site you are accessing is actually the Sampathnet site of Sampath Bank. Sampathnet also uses data 128 bit data encryption to protect information exchanged between your PC and the bank. 128 bit encryption is the strongest data encryption level available currently, and only the Financial Institutions are allowed to use this facility. Data transmitted between your PC and & Sampathnet site are strongly encrypted, so that no intruder can read what is being transmitted. Above all, you have your own user ID and Password for extra security, and additionally Transaction Password for reconfirming financial transactions.
You also have the facility to change your passwords anytime you wish.

 
 
 
  5. HOW MUCH WOULD SAMPATHNET COST ME?

     For Corporate Users -  (Annual subscription) - Rs. 1,000/- (Rs. 500/- for every six months)

  6. HOW TO MAKE THE SAMPATHNET USAGE MORE SECURE.
  You play a major role in maintaining the security of your Sampathnet operations.
Here are a few pointers:
  Memorize your User ID and Passwords and NEVER write them down anywhere nor reveal them to anyone. Your User ID and Passwords will authenticate you when you log on to Sampathnet.
  Change your Passwords from time to time, using the "Customize" --> "Change Password" feature on Sampathnet.
  Before you exit from Sampathnet, always clear your browser's disk cache/ temporary files to prevent someone from being able to access the information on your computer.
  Before leaving the PC please CLOSE THE BROWSER.
  Notify the Bank immediately if you notice any unusual account activity.
  If you are accessing Sampathnet using Internet Explorer version 5.0 (IE5) or above, the browser might offer to remember your passwords. ALWAYS SAY NO to this request. If you accept this offer, the browser remembers all your passwords, creating a security risk for you.
If you are already using IE5 and not sure whether you have accepted this offer or not,
  Click TOOLS, INTERNET OPTIONS, CONTENT, AUTO COMPLETE, CLEAR PASSWORDS to clear any passwords stored so far.
  Also uncheck the box "Prompt to save passwords" and click OK
  These will ensure that the browser will not remember/save your passwords anymore.
   
 
 
  7. HOW DO I BENEFIT FROM SAMPATHNET?

  Access all your accounts from anywhere in the world, at any time of the day.
  Access online, real time data from your PC, for your own financial planning etc.,
  Save time and costs incurred in personally visiting the Bank.
  Plan your day by slotting in your Banking at any time, as your Bank is open for you to carry out a transaction at your leisure.

  8. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS FOR SAMPATHNET
  Internet Connection.
  A pc with 486 or higher processor with a clock speed of 100 MHz or above.
  Browser Internet Explorer 4 or above, Version 5.5 of IE is recommended with service packs 1 and 2 installed.
  Netscape version 4 upto version 4.73. Higher versions of Netscape, may give errors in some of the areas.
  Modem 14.4 or higher(56k preferred).
   
 
 
  9. HOW DO I REGISTER?
  Applications are available at any Branch of Sampath Bank. You could request for an application by e-mail or calling us at the Help Desk.

  GETTING STARTED
  10. WHEN CAN I START USING THE SAMPATHNET?
  On receipt of duly completed and signed Sampathnet application form from you, the Bank will scrutinize the application and create your User ID in Sampathnet.
  Your branch will inform you when your User ID and password mailer is ready for collection.
During the first login, it is mandatory to change both, the Login and Transaction password. This requirement is implemented for your own security.
   
 
 
  11. DO I NEED TO INSTALL ANYTHING BEFORE I CAN USE SAMPATHNET?
  You should have the SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS as specified above. Nothing else is required.
   
 
 
  12. INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO CONNECT AND TRANSACT ON SAMPATHNET.
  You can connect to Sampathnet through our website: http://www.sampath.lk/
Sampathnet is easy to use, and even more so with our "Help" button at every step of each transaction.
Always use MOUSE CLICK options (single click) instead of using ENTER KEY.
Use BACK or CANCEL Buttons provided within the Sampathnet screen, instead of using the BACK BUTTON on your INTERNET BROWSER.
DOUBLE CLICKING THE MOUSE, USING BACK BUTTON OF THE BROWSER & USING ENTER KEY may lead to SECURITY VIOLATIONS and the system might require you to login to Sampathnet again.
For all transactions except inquiries, you will be issued a transaction reference number on-screen to indicate that the transaction has been successfully completed. You are requested to take note of the transaction code on-screen for future correspondences with the Bank.
For more specific information on the various transactions/screens, click on the "Help" button after you have logged on to the Sampathnet.
   
 
 
  13. HOW DO I KNOW WHETHER THE TRANSACTIONS GET SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED?
  For all services available on Sampathnet except inquiries, a transaction reference number will be assigned to you on-screen when the transaction has been successfully completed. Hence, it is important that you wait for the transaction reference number to appear on screen before you change screens or exit from Sampathnet.
Should the Sampathnet service become temporarily unavailable due to host or technical problems, use CUSTOMIZE, ACTIVITY INQUIRY option to inquire whether the transaction is in the SUCCESS status. Normally if you get a transaction reference number the transaction gets completed successfully.
You can also take LAST 10 TRANSACTIONS option to see whether your account has been debited/credited.
   
 
 
  CUSTOMER SERVICE
  14. CAN I USE SAMPATHNET FROM OVERSEAS?
  Sampathnet can be used from any country in the world via internet provided your access point is equipped with System Requirements mentioned earlier.
However, please be aware that operations in your accounts with Sampath Bank and the Sampathnet services are subject to Terms, Conditions and Indemnity of your Sampathnet agreement.
   
 
 
  15. IF I ENCOUNTER DIFFICULTIES WITH TRANSACTIONS ON SAMPATHNET?
  Click the "Help" button to get the system help.

  16. CAN I CHANGE MY SAMPATHNET SIGNON / TRANSACTION PASSWORD?
  You can change your passwords after you have logged on to the Sampathnet. "Change Password" option is found in the "Customize" menu. Both Signon and Transaction Passwords can be changed using this option
   
 
 
  17. WHAT HAPPENS IF MY USER ID GETS LOCKED?
  User ID and the Password is your KEY to the Bank.
To protect against any unauthorized access to your accounts, your login is automatically disabled after 3 consecutive login failures. Thereafter the message
"You have exceeded maximum unsuccessful Login attempts. - User ID Locked"
appears whenever you try to login.
In case your access is locked, please contact your Branch or the Help Desk.
You will have to complete a request form for re-enabling the password or re-generating a new password for you.
   
 
 
  18. WHAT IF I FORGET MY PASSWORD?
  Please contact your Branch for obtaining an Application for Password Re-Generation.
The Bank will then regenerate a new Password and send it to you in a new Password Mailer. The issue of the new Password Mailer is similar to issuing your original Password mailer.
